Car Hire Reus Airport
Reus Airport (Catalan: Aeroport de Reus) is located next to the beaches of the Costa Daurada in Spain. The city of Reus and the town of Constanti are approximately 7.5km (4.7 miles) from the airport. The airport is named after the city that it is closest to, Reus. There are 5 car rental companies located within Reus Airport. The desks can be found directly opposite the baggage carousels in the arrivals hall.
Reus Airport has operations from 16 airlines, with approximately 1.4 million passengers per year passing through the airport. This amount has almost tripled from 1995. Large amounts of tourist traffic is attracted to the airport due to its proximity to the beach resort of Salou, and one of Europe's largest theme parks Port Aventura. Many passengers also travel to the Prades Mountains and the Mediterranean Forest. Since October 2008 the airport has been a major base for the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair. Other airlines such as BMI, Finnair, and Flybe use the airport regularly. As the passenger numbers increased, the check-in desks and security services were increased to fit in with the larger crowds arriving. A new departures terminal was built, along with a new arrivals hall. Four bus routes operate to and from the airport. The buses run to Barcelona, Cambrils, Tarragona City, and downtown Reus. Buses are laid on throughout the year to coincide with flight arrival and departure times. Taxis are available but charge extortionate prices to those who they know are travellers. There are a few shops and restaurants in the airport terminal, which are open when flights have landed or before they have taken off. In this airport there is also a tourist information office which will be able to advise and help you if you require it, and they can also give you maps of the area.
